The Data Analyst will support Cauridor's teams — from operations and finance to commercial and marketing — by turning raw data into clear, usable insight, with a strong focus on applying AI tools to work faster and smarter. Sitting within the Data Engineering team alongside the reconciliation-focused analysts, this role is deliberately broad: rather than owning one deep specialization, this person flexes across whatever the business needs — ad hoc analysis for any team, dashboards, and AI-powered automation. The role suits someone genuinely curious about how AI changes the way analysis gets done, and comfortable being the go-to generalist rather than the deep specialist in one area.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Turn business questions from any team (ops, finance, commercial, marketing) into clear, accurate analysis.
- Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports across the business.
- Respond to ad hoc data requests quickly and accurately, covering ground the reconciliation-focused analysts don't.
AI-Enabled Analytics
- Use AI tools (LLMs, AI-assisted BI features) to speed up analysis, automate repetitive reporting, and surface insights faster.
- Pilot new AI tools and workflows that could improve how the wider team works with data.
- Build simple AI-powered internal tools where useful (e.g., a data query assistant, auto-generated report summaries).
Data Engineering Support
- Work with the Data Engineer (Lead) to ensure data feeding into analysis is accurate and well-structured.
- Flag and help fix data quality issues at the source.
- Help document data definitions and sources so others can rely on them.
Cross-Functional Support
- Act as the go-to generalist data resource across multiple teams, translating business needs into analysis.
- Present findings in plain, actionable language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Pick up work that falls outside the reconciliation analysts' scope.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to automate manual, repetitive reporting processes.
- Stay current on new AI/data tools relevant to analytics and bring ideas back to the team.
- 5–7 years of experience in data analysis, BI, or a related analytics role.
- Strong SQL skills; comfortable querying and shaping data from multiple sources.
- Hands-on experience with a BI tool (Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, Metabase, or similar).
- Genuine hands-on experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, or AI-assisted analytics features) to speed up real work — not just awareness of them.
- Comfortable with Python or similar for automation and analysis (a plus).
- Some exposure to data engineering concepts — pipelines, data warehousing basics (e.g., BigQuery).
- Strong communication skills — can explain findings in plain language to non-technical stakeholders.
- Versatile and comfortable context-switching across different business functions, without needing one narrow specialization.
- Curious and self-directed.
- Experience in fintech, payments, or a fast-moving startup environment is a plus.
- Fluent English; French is an advantage given Cauridor's West/Central Africa footprint.
- Fluent written and spoken English; professional French a strong advantage.
- A real opportunity to contribute to financial inclusion and help shape the future of finance across Africa
- The ability to take true ownership of your work — we trust you to lead, build, and make things happen
- Exposure to meaningful, high-impact projects where your work directly influences the business
- A fast-moving, international environment where collaboration is natural and ideas are welcomed
- Flexibility in how you work, with a focus on outcomes
- Ongoing learning and growth as the company scales
- A competitive salary with performance-based bonuses
